Biography
Dr. Priya’s mental Health Facility is a Psychologist and trauma informed therapist committed for more than a decade in the field of mental health. She is a dedicated mental health professional supporting individuals in their journey embarking emotional well-being and personal growth. Dr. Priya holds academic background in the discipline of Psychology major from Delhi University with her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Her doctoral work pertains to understanding of eating disorders, body image disturbance and effectiveness of different therapeutic modalities. With a background in clinical psychology and counselling, Dr. Priya has built her skill set in traumas- informed care, couples therapy, play and art therapy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Priya has served for more than a decade as Assistant Professor (Psychology) at different colleges of Delhi University. Being a passionate Psychology faculty, with her training and expertise, she has mentored large diverse group of students nourishing their interest and skill set in Psychology. She is a zealous researcher, conducted studies on parenting, grief, self of adolescents, cognition etc. Her robust interest lies in sharing her knowledge through workshops, seminars, and academic publications to contribute to the advancement and intersection of mental health awareness, culture and treatment.
Throughout her career as a Psychotherapist, she believes in creating a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours while developing effective coping strategies. She trusts in supremacy of facilitative relationship as a catalyst in achieving their goals. She offers compassionate and effective climate to help clients navigate life’s challenges and cultivate resilience. Her empathetic and non-judgmental approach fosters client’s ability to process, meaning make their inner world and develop skill set for effective functioning.
In her journey of working as a Psychotherapist, she has had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric. Also, with varied familial and organizational setting, addressing a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, grief, adjustment concerns, interpersonal difficulties and relationship issues.
Her approach to mental health care is holistic, integrating evidence-based practices with a client-centred focus and cognitive behavioural techniques tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. She believes in creating a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic alliance, where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
In addition to her clinical practice, she is dedicated to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field of mental health. She is deeply committed to advocacy efforts aimed at reducing stigma surrounding mental illness and promoting access to quality mental health care for all.
It’s certainly her honour to walk alongside clients as they embark on their healing journey, offering support, guidance, and hope towards making mental health a priority.
